Trademarks

Any sign, including letters, numbers, or shapes, that serves to distinguish goods or services from others is defined as a trademark. Trademark rights are protected indefinitely and subject to renewal every 10 years. The trademark bulletins, which are published twice a month, are monitored and potentially similar trademarks are reported and notified.

Here are the services we provide for trademarks:

• Trademark Search

The trademark subject to application is researched against existing trademarks for both distinctiveness and uniqueness, as well as for any potential conflicts that may arise during the registration process.

• Application

Once the decision to proceed with filing an application is made following the search, the trademark application is filed before the relevant official authority.

• Monitoring of the Trademark

Registered trademarks are regularly monitored for similar or potentially conflicting marks, with updates provided to clients as needed.

• Opposition

In cases where a trademark similar to a registered one is identified, opposition is filed in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.

We also prepare and prosecute oppositions the decisions of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

• Renewal

Trademark registrations are subject to renewal every 10 years, with all relevant dates and procedures carefully monitored and managed by our team.

• Recordal of Address/Title/Change of Name and Recordal of License/Merger/Assignment

Any recordal of address, title, change of name and recordal of license/merger/assignment is carried out before the relevant authority.

• International Trademark Applications

The protection granted by trademark registration is limited to the countries where the application is filed. International applications are processed through separate National Applications in each country, the International Trademark Application (Madrid System), and/or the Community Trademark Application (CTM).
